Loaded

Yesterday I did laundry again.  I switched between reading and staring mindlessly into the vortex of stuff swishing around in a promenade 'o filth.  I caught my white sheet become pinned to the edges of the drum.   Indeed, it looked like a drum, white skin stretched across round space.

Oh shit oh shit, I thought to myself.  A flat pane of white?  I think the words, What does that mean,? but I already know the answer. 

It means death, obviously.  How improbable, a sheet standing upright like that?  A sheet?  (Like what you cover corpses with).  White? (Like the color of death in asia and many cultures).  And anyway it fits.  So, Death in the laundry.
